Pencil pouches are essential for everyone to use. What better way for a pencil pouch to be than be able to attach to a book you are currently using. Whether you are a book reader or have to make constant notes in a book, keep all the stationary and related stuff close to your book. The pencil pouch can also be used as a bookmark once you are done reading.

So learn to make a pencil case that will never get lost and can be double used as a bookmark. The pouch has an elastic band at the back that will let it be used with books of multiple sizes. However if the book is smaller than the pouch we are making in this tutorial, simply adjust the size of the pouch.

Tips:

1- Keep the pouch 4 cm smaller than the book you are reading.

2- keep the length of elastic band 2 cm longer than the length of main fabric cut of the pouch.

I am attaching some detail photos of the pouch below:

The outer material I have to sew the pouch is polyester canvas. For lining the fabric I have used is cotton. The zipper I have used is nylon zip no 3.

Measurements and other materials I have used are:

  • 23cm x 10cm (1 main fabric and 1 lining fabric)
  • 23cm x 6cm (2 main fabric and 2 lining fabric)
  • zipper: 24cm
  • elastic: 26cm
