Backpacks are best for carrying your stuff around with keeping your hands and arms free. They are your hassle free travel partner. I have made this backpack keeping in mind the use by kids. The size if perfect for a toddler to a teen and is easy to use.

The material I have used is polyester canvas (both the outer fabric as well as the lining fabric). I have used polyester sheet as a lining in between for extra structure, stability and protection. There is a slip pocket inside, drawstring closure with a flap closing over. There is an outer zipper pocket on the flap and two slip pockets on the outer two sides of the bag.

The final size if the bag is as follow:

-12 inches (30.48 cm) Height

-10 inches (25.4 cm) Width

-4 (10.16 cm) inches Depth

These measurements are also provided with the detail step by step tutorial in my YouTube channel. you can view it at the bottom of this post.

The template for flap and main body are given below in the PDF format. Download and print them without changing the aspect ratio.

The template for the “Main Body” is in 4 parts. You need to cut and stick them together (seam allowance is included in the template) so cut it to the size.

The final cut and pasted template shall look like this picture:

The template for flap is half. To cut is you need to download and print the file without changing the aspect ration. Place the template on folded paper. Place the semi circles on fold, cut the folded paper to template size and open. You will get the flap.
