Cross body bags are every girls best friend. They are not only easy to carry around but look chic and stylish as well. You can style the crossbody bags with pants, dresses and frock and they will vibe with them effortlessly.
The crossbody bag that I have sewn in this tutorial is relatively of the bigger size. It is spacious enough to keep almost all of your essentials while going to a night out, shopping or office. The crossbody bag has a zipper inside to keep you essentials in your bag in more secure and organized manner.
Final size of the finished bag is:
- 29cm length
- 22cm Height
- 10cm depth
You can view some pictures of the cross body bag below:
The fabric I have used for sewing the cross body bag is polyester canvas. It is quilted with a layer of polyester sheet beneath it. If you want to learn how I put square quilting boxes, watch the tutorial here.
I have added D rings so you can easily attach or detach a strap as per your need and liking.
For crafting and sewing the crossbody bag you will require:
- 34cm x 28cm fabric (4 fabrics, 2 for lining and 2 for outer fabric)
- 34cm x 28cm polyester sheet
- 21.5cm x 29cm inside zipper fabric
- 5cm x 8cm (2 fabric for D rings)
- 22cm zipper
- 30cm metal zipper
- 5cm x 5cm 2 zip tabs
- D rings: 2
I have fused my linings with very lightweight fusible fabric also known as dotted fusible interfacing. This is completely optional.
